REGISTRATION IS OPEN. CLICK HERE.
There are variety of registration categories, at various price levels. There will also be some limited financial assistance (see the section below).
Registration (in all categories) gains you entry to all the Tuesday-Thursday regular sessions and the Friday field trips, break coffee and tea, lunch, and access to the Networking Cafes (where there will be light food and drinks). (Field trips require an additional €12 for a bag lunch.)
**Now closed** NSF-related travel grants: TNOC and the University of Utah anticipate having money from the US National Science Foundation to fully fund the travel of 14 people to TNOC Summit. To apply for this money, (1) you must be based in the United States (but you don’t have to be a US national); and (2) your work must relate to urban ecosystems. “Urban ecosystems” can be broadly interpreted, and we are interested in applications from scientists, practitioners, policy people, and artists. We encourage applications from people from demographics that are under-represented in urban ecosystem science and practice. To apply, write tnocsummit@thenatureofcities.eu with NSF in the subject line. In the body, include: (1) you name and affiliation; (2) brief bio (<50 words); (3) why your ecosystem-related practice makes you want to attend TNOC Summit. We’ll start reviewing applications 15 April.
Super Early Bird: €300
[Now closed.] Open to everyone, but available only through 31 January 2019, to a limit of 100 people (whichever comes first). Other than students, this is the least expensive registration category.
Global South: €350 (after 7 April 2019: €425)
If you live and work in the Global South, choose this category (unless you are choosing “Super Early Bird”). For the purposes of defining “north” and “south”, we use this list.
Global North: €400 (after 7 April 2019: €500)
If you live and work in the Global South, choose this category (unless you are choosing “Super early Bird”). For the purposes of defining “north” and “south”, we use this list.
Student: €225 (after 7 April 2019: €350)
Full time undergraduate or graduate student. There is also a free option, if you give us a little work. (See the Financial Assistance section.)
Last minute: €550
After 1 June, all registrations will be at the “last minute” price.
Cancelation policy:
Super Early Bird: 90% of payment refunded if canceled by 29 January 2019; not refundable after 29 January. (The more strict cancelation policy for this category is because there are a limited number of seats—we don’t want them to be consumed and then canceled, preventing others from using the category.)
Early Bird (North or South): 80% of payment refunded if canceled by 1 May 2019; not refundable after 1 May.
Student: 80% of payment refunded if canceled by 1 May 2019; not refundable after 1 May.
Last minute: No refunds are possible.
